Lip Filler

Definition and balance, proportionate to you.

What is Lip Filler?

Volume and definition, kept in proportion.

Lip filler is a doctor-administered hyaluronic acid injectable used to add volume, refine the border of the lips, or improve symmetry. The intention at FMAC is a natural, proportionate result that suits your existing facial features — not overfilling. Dr Gerald Tan discusses your goals in detail at consultation, including how much change you're comfortable with, before agreeing on a plan.

Because hyaluronic acid integrates with the body's own tissue, results typically look and feel soft and natural, and the treatment can generally be adjusted or dissolved if your preferences change.

How it works

A plan built around your natural lip shape.

Dr Gerald Tan assesses your natural lip shape, symmetry and the balance of your lower face before agreeing on a treatment plan aimed at proportionate, natural-looking results. A hyaluronic acid filler is then injected in small, careful amounts to add volume, define the border, or correct asymmetry, with the goal of enhancing rather than dramatically altering your natural lip shape.

What it treats

Who this is designed for.

01

Thin or flattened lips

Loss of natural lip fullness that has changed gradually over time.

02

Border definition

A softened or less defined lip border affecting overall shape.

03

Asymmetry

Noticeable unevenness between the upper and lower lip, or side to side.

04

A natural, proportionate look

Patients who want subtle enhancement rather than a dramatically fuller look.

What to expect

Immediate change, with settling over the week after.

Day of treatment

Volume is visible immediately, though swelling in the first day or two can make the lips look fuller than the final result.

Week 1

Swelling typically settles over about a week, revealing a closer approximation of the final shape.

Months following

Results typically last around 6–12 months, depending on individual metabolism, before a top-up may be considered.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

Is lip filler safe?
It is a doctor-administered procedure using a substance naturally found in the body. Dr Gerald Tan assesses your suitability individually and will discuss any risks specific to your health history before treatment.
Does it hurt?
Topical numbing is typically applied beforehand, and most lip filler formulations also contain a local anaesthetic, so discomfort is generally mild.
What's the downtime?
Downtime is generally minimal. Swelling is common in the first day or two and typically settles within about a week, so many patients plan treatment away from major events.
When will I see results?
Volume is visible immediately, though the final shape becomes clearer once initial swelling settles over the following week.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients achieve their desired result in a single session. Dr Tan will confirm a plan at consultation based on your goals and starting lip volume.
